A deadline of December 22, 2025 has been issued by the president general of the Contractors and General Workers Trade Union (CGWTU) Ermine De Bique-Meade for the Chief Personnel Officer (CPO) Dr Daryl Dindial and Finance Minister Davendranath Tancoo to honour two collective agreements for daily paid workers of the San Fernando City Corporation.
De Bique-Meade said the negotiations, signed on April 24, represent a 4% increase for two bargaining periods: 2014-2016 and 2017-2019.
Speaking to the Express yesterday, she said the union was assured by the CPO that the new rates would be applied to the workers’ salaries in August and the arrears would be paid on or before Christmas 2025.
