(Kaieteur News) – Canadian mining company Aris Mining Corporation says it is actively engaging the Government of Guyana and the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC) to secure a mining licence for its Toroparu Gold Project.

The update was provided in the company’s second-quarter 2026 results released on 29th July to keep stakeholders informed as the project advances toward a targeted construction decision in early 2027.

The Toroparu Project located in Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni), is one of the largest undeveloped gold deposits in Guyana. This project is being developed by ETK Inc. a subsidiary of Aris Mining. Overall, the project is expected to yield approximately five million ounces of gold, 4.9 million ounces of silver, and 260 million pounds of copper over its mine life.
