A Venezue­lan na­tion­al ap­peared in court yes­ter­day, charged with re­ceiv­ing a $93,000 ran­som in re­la­tion to the kid­nap­ping of Jankie Satie Karim.

Es­dra Isi­ac Salazar Co­va was de­nied bail by Mas­ter Deli­cia Bethele­my at the San Fer­nan­do Mas­ters Court. He was charged by PC Cadette of the An­ti-Kid­nap­ping Unit with know­ing­ly re­ceiv­ing a ran­som of $93,000 on Ju­ly 19 re­lat­ed to Karim’s kid­nap­ping.

The 44-year-old moth­er of one was snatched by armed men as she head­ed to her home at Anoop Street, Bassie Street Ex­ten­sion, Spring Vil­lage, Val­sayn, on Ju­ly 13.
