TRINIDAD and Tobago is set to receive US$3.5 million in grant funding over the next four years to tackle land degradation and strengthen climate resilience, as the country rolls out a major environmental initiative focused on nature-based solutions.
The funding will come from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and will support a project titled Nature-based Solutions for Resilient Landscapes in Trinidad and Tobago, also known as the BioResilience Project.
In a media release yesterday, the Ministry of Planning, Economic Affairs and Development said the project will be coordinated and implemented through its Environmental Policy and Planning Division, working in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).
