A female foetus was found in bushes near the Registrar General’s Department building in West Palm Court on Wednesday, prompting police to launch an investigation and a search for the child’s mother.

Police say the remains, estimated at six to seven months’ gestation, showed that one hand and both feet had been bitten off, presumably by animals.

As part of the probe, investigators will be checking health facilities to gather information about maternal visits as they try to trace the mother.
