Drone Seized At Port Of Spain Prison

At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2026, officers attached to the Port of Spain Prison, acting on intelligence received, intercepted and confiscated a grey DJI drone with a length of string attached.

The discovery is believed to be linked to attempts to use unmanned aerial technology to facilitate the introduction of prohibited items into correctional facilities.

Mr. Elvin Scanterbury, Commissioner of Prisons (Ag.), commended the dedication, vigilance and professionalism demonstrated by the officers involved in the operation.
