The People’s National Movement (PNM) will hold elections for its PNM Tobago Council on April 19, as the party begins a rebuilding process following its sweeping electoral defeat in Tobago earlier this year.
The date was confirmed by PNM chairman Marvin Gonzales, who told reporters outside Parliament that the Tobago Council had formally written to the party’s General Council notifying it of the planned election.
Gonzales also welcomed the decision by Shamfa Cudjoe, the former Tobago West MP and minister, to enter the race for leadership of the Tobago arm of the party.
