A ransacked office, a tampered safe, and a missing electricity meter greeted workers when the TTPost building on Lucky Street, La Romaine, was reopened early Friday morning, after burglars broke into the facility overnight.
Police said a mail carrier secured the premises around 4 pm on Thursday at the end of the business day. When he returned around 5.50 am on Friday and carried out routine checks, he observed signs of forced entry.
Further inspections revealed that burglar-proofing on the northern side of the building had been detached. The interior office space was found in disarray, a safe had been tampered with, and a T&TEC meter was missing.
