(Kaieteur News) ā Parents and guardians of children registered in Guyanaās public and private school system will begin receiving the āBecause We Careā cash grant from today.
Each eligible child will receive a total of $85,000, this year following an increase in the grant and the introduction of a new transportation subsidy. The cash grant has been increased from $50,000 to $60,000, while the school uniform grant remains at $5,000, bringing the total education grant to $65,000. With the addition of the new $20,000 transportation grant, every child in the public and private school system will receive $85,000.
In a message on Sunday, Minister of Education Sonia Parag urged parents and guardians to check the distribution schedule for their childrenās schools.
