15 Cedros homes hit by flooding

About 15 house­holds in the Ce­dros dis­trict have been af­fect­ed by flood­ing, with wa­ter en­ter­ing homes in Bonasse, Fuller­ton, Lime­field Vil­lage and St Mary’s Hous­ing De­vel­op­ment.

Min­is­ter of Rur­al De­vel­op­ment and Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment Khadi­jah Ameen yes­ter­day di­rect­ed that im­me­di­ate as­sis­tance, in­clud­ing clean­ing sup­plies and sup­port with clean-up op­er­a­tions, be pro­vid­ed to af­fect­ed res­i­dents.

Ameen made the an­nounce­ment in a me­dia re­lease, as the Min­istry’s Dis­as­ter Man­age­ment Unit mon­i­tored flood­ing fol­low­ing pe­ri­ods of heavy rain­fall and over­cast con­di­tions.
