Jade Monkey withdraws from Tobago Jouvert

Jade Monkey Carnival says it will no longer be participating in the Jouvert aspect of Tobago Carnival 2026.

In a Facebook post by bandleader Seon Anthony yesterday, the band said it “wishes to advise our masqueraders, supporters, partners and the wider public, that, after careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision not to proceed with our Jouvert presentation, ‘Rise of the Empire’, for Tobago Carnival 2026.

This decision, it said, was not taken lightly and added that following a comprehensive review of the prevailing economic environment and other operational considerations, “we determined that moving forward at this time would not allow us to deliver the quality and standard our masqueraders have come to expect.
