(Kaieteur News) – In a world where many women are expected to balance careers, families, caregiving responsibilities and personal commitments, taking time to rest and reset is often overlooked. In Guyana, however, conversations around wellness, burnout, emotional balance and self-care are becoming increasingly important as more people recognise that true well-being goes beyond the physical.
With this in mind, Escapé Book Club hosted its Second Annual Health & Wellness Retreat, Camp Escapé 2026, under the theme “Camp Escapé: Reset, Connect & Grow.” Founder of the book club, Sameerah Mohamed Ferouze explained that the two-day retreat held in July was designed as a safe and welcoming space where women could step away from their daily routines, reconnect with themselves and each other, and return home feeling refreshed, grounded and inspired.
She explained that the health & wellness retreat was built on the understanding that wellness is nurtured through connection, creativity, movement, learning, and time in nature.
