KINGSTON, Jamaica – World Champion Oblique Seville opened his 100m season with a smooth 9.96 seconds (0.2m/s) to win the men’s 100m at Saturday’s third JAAA/Puma meet at the National Stadium.
Running in the 21st heat, Seville ran away from the field in his section, finishing ahead of Sandrey Davison (10.22 seconds) and Adrian Kerr (10.28 seconds). Bouwahjgie Nkrumie, who won the penultimate section with a season’s best 10.13 seconds (-1.1m/s), was second overall.
Ashanti Moore won the women’s 100m with 11.18 seconds (0.1m/s), finishing ahead of World Relays gold medalist Jodean Williams (11.22 seconds) and national junior record holder Alana Reid (11.31 seconds).
