THE North Central Regional Health Authority owes more than $300 million to suppliers and contractors. This according to recently appointed chairman of the NCRHA Dr Tim Gopeesingh.
Speaking to the Sunday Express about some of the board’s preliminary findings during its first meeting, Gopeesingh—a former government minister—said the NCRHA also had an annual recurrent security fee of almost $50 million.
“My understanding is there are about five security companies that have been operating for possibly the last ten years and looking to see where their contracts have been. My understanding is that they have not been with a contract for years,” he said.
