Ja­maica’s Prime Min­is­ter An­drew Hol­ness has out­lined a mul­ti-lay­ered strat­e­gy for his coun­try’s quick re­cov­ery fol­low­ing the pas­sage of Hur­ri­cane Melis­sa, which is ex­pect­ed to move over the coun­try on Mon­day night and ear­ly Tues­day.

The cat­e­go­ry 5 hur­ri­cane, pack­ing sus­tained max­i­mum winds of 165 miles per hour (mph) is ex­pect­ed to trav­el across south­east­ern Cu­ba Tues­day night and across the south­east­ern Ba­hamas on Wednes­day.

The hur­ri­cane is lo­cat­ed about 145 mils of Kingston and is mov­ing to­ward the west near three mph.
