Local builders must look beyond T&T, says Maharaj

Trinidad and To­ba­go’s ar­chi­tec­ture, en­gi­neer­ing, con­struc­tion and in­te­ri­or de­sign pro­fes­sion­als must look be­yond the do­mes­tic mar­ket and po­si­tion their ex­per­tise to se­cure a greater share of the Caribbean’s build­ing and de­vel­op­ment ex­pen­di­ture.

The sec­tor has ex­port po­ten­tial be­yond phys­i­cal prod­ucts, with pro­fes­sion­al ser­vices, tech­ni­cal knowl­edge and de­sign ca­pa­bil­i­ties of­fer­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties for lo­cal busi­ness­es to com­pete for re­gion­al con­tracts.
