(Kaieteur News) – Cognizant of the hurdles citizens face when attempting to access Schengen visas to travel to European countries, EU Ambassador to Guyana, Luca Pierantoni said the EU has been working to achieve a smoother, hassle-free travel process.
Ambassador Pierantoni said that the EU has been working intensively to facilitate people-to-people and business-to-business exchanges between the EU and Guyana, including by making travel to Europe easier for Guyanese nationals. He said given the concerns raised recently, he believes tangible results could be achieved soon.
“We have taken the concerns expressed by the Guyanese government and civil society representatives very seriously, and we believe tangible results can be achieved soon. We will continue to build new political, economic and cultural bridges between the EU and Guyana,” Ambassador Pierantoni said in a comment to this publication.
