Burglars Target Princes Town Homes in Spate of Armed Break-Ins

Two armed men broke into a nurse’s home on Manahambre Road in Princes Town on Tuesday morning, ransacking the house and damaging three vehicles while she hid inside. Police later recovered her wallet and identification in nearby bushes, and the incident has deepened residents’ fears amid a series of recent home invasions and burglaries.

Two Princes Town homes were targeted by burglars in separate early-morning break-ins, leaving residents shaken and robbed of cash, jewellery and cellphones. In one case, Vaughn Taylor and his girlfriend barricaded themselves in a room while intruders kicked at the door until police arrived. Residents say the attacks show growing security concerns and are urging more streetlights and police patrols.

Residents of Lothians Road and nearby communities in Princes Town say a spate of home invasions has left them fearful in their own neighbourhoods. In one recent attack, burglars entered a couple’s home, stole money and jewellery, and in another an 18-year-old lost two phones; the area has also seen a retired police officer attacked.
