THE People’s National Movement (PNM) conceded general election defeat by 10.15 p.m. yesterday, on what former prime minister Dr Keith Rowley called “not a good night” for the party, but what “may be a good night for Trinidad and Tobago”.
Speaking as political leader of the PNM and joined by his protege and outgoing prime minister Stuart Young, Rowley stated that while results from the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) were not yet finalised, it was “clear at this time that we have lost the election”.
In an address streamed live from Balisier House in Port of Spain, Rowley noted that he was conceding as “surprisingly, we have not done very well in the general elections”.
