Kaieteur News – His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, President of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, has proclaimed Wednesday, July 22, through Friday, July 24, 2026 as Three Days of National Mourning in honour of the victims of the M.V. Barima tragedy.
During this period, the National Flag shall be flown at half-mast on Government buildings and other appropriate locations.
Wednesday, July 22, 2026, will be observed as a National Day of Prayer, with a National Day of Prayer and Remembrance at the Kingston Seawall, Georgetown.
