A website tracking the jamming of Global Positioning System (GPS) signals has shown a massive amount of interference in and around Venezuela and to the west and east of Trinidad within the past two days.
Tracker GPSJam.org’s latest data displaying information for October 29, shows a high level of GPS interference (more than 10%) in northwestern Trinidad and off its south-eastern coast on that date, and medium (between 2 and 10%) along its eastern coast.
According to tech expert Shivam Teelucksingh, the map visualizes GPS signal interference (jamming or spoofing) areas where GPS signals from satellites are being disrupted, either accidentally (e.g. solar activity, faulty transmitters) or intentionally (e.g. military operations, signal jammers).
