THE Port of Spain City Corporation has obtained an interim injunction halting the construction of a four-storey building on leased land at Ariapita Avenue, Woodbrook, which it says is being carried out without the required approvals.
The order was made on Monday by Justice Nirala Bansee-Sookhai against developer Maurice Hoyte, restraining him from continuing, carrying out or permitting any further building, construction or engineering works at Lot No 1 Ariapita Avenue.
Hoyte is also prohibited from permitting or facilitating the entry of contractors, labourers, building materials or construction machinery onto the property.
