THE National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) deployed four crane trucks to Norwood, St James, on Thursday to remove derelict vehicles and bulky waste as part of a clean-up initiative aimed at improving public safety, enhancing accessibility and restoring order within the community.
NSWMA’s Executive Director Audley Gordon told journalists that more than 50 derelict vehicles had been identified for removal under the operation, which forms part of ongoing efforts to address obstructions on roadways and improve conditions for residents.
He added that crane trucks were mobilised from other regions to support the operation, enabling crews to access and remove abandoned vehicles located in confined and hard-to-reach areas.
