(Kaieteur News) Chief Education Officer (CEO) Saddam Hussain has announced an improvement in students’ performance in Mathematics at the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) level, with the pass rate moving from 32% in 2025 to 34.5% in 2026.
The CEO provided the information at the release of this year’s preliminary results for the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE), Caribbean Vocational Qualifications (CVQ), and Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence (CCSLC) examinations, held at the Marriott Hotel on Tuesday.
In his remarks, he noted that 13,052 students wrote the CSEC examinations in 35 subject areas, and that the overall national pass rate increased to 67% from 66% in 2025.
