The opposition People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR), on behalf of the A Partnership for National Unity (APNU), is calling for an immediate investigation into a video circulating on social media that appears to show young children holding $5,000 bills while expressing gratitude to President Irfaan Ali and another individual identified as “mommy.”
In a statement issued on Friday, the party said if the video is authentic, it represents “a new low in governance” and raises serious concerns about the treatment and possible exploitation of vulnerable children for political purposes.
The video, which has attracted widespread attention on social media, reportedly shows children, believed to be no older than 10 years old, holding cash while saying, “Thank you Mr. President” and “Thank you mommy.”
