(Kaieteur News) – Five children suffering from cardiac conditions, accompanied by their parents, will travel to India this weekend to undergo specialised heart surgeries.
According to information provided by the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), the overseas medical intervention is being facilitated through a collaboration between the Government of Guyana and Apollo Hospitals in India, allowing children who require advanced cardiac care to access specialised procedures.
GPHC explained that while several cardiac procedures have been successfully performed locally, some children require more complex interventions that cannot be undertaken at the hospital.
