Dionne Ligoure is step­ping down from her po­si­tion as Cor­po­rate Com­mu­ni­ca­tions Ex­ec­u­tive Man­ag­er at Caribbean Air­lines. Her last day on the job will be Au­gust 31. Guardian Me­dia un­der­stands she ten­dered her res­ig­na­tion in Ju­ly, and it is not linked to Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar’s re­cent calls for CAL man­age­ment to turn the com­pa­ny around.

Ligoure’s de­par­ture is the lat­est in a se­ries of lead­er­ship changes at the air­line, which re­cent­ly saw the ap­point­ment of a new Board of Di­rec­tors with Rey­na Kow­lessar re­plac­ing Ron­nie Mo­hammed as CAL Chair­man. Ligoure’s res­ig­na­tion al­so comes amid in­tense pub­lic scruti­ny on the air­line, as the Prime Min­is­ter has voiced con­cerns over CAL’s fail­ure to sub­mit au­dit­ed fi­nan­cial state­ments for near­ly a decade and what she says is the op­er­a­tion of un­prof­itable routes.

While the air­line has seen sev­er­al ju­nior staff re­sign over the last few months, this is the first high-lev­el de­par­ture since Roger Berke­ley’s res­ig­na­tion as Vice Pres­i­dent of Hu­man Re­sources in 2024. At the time, CAL CEO Garvin Med­era stat­ed that Berke­ley was leav­ing to “en­gage in new op­por­tu­ni­ties else­where.”
