Community-Based Environmental Protection and Enhancement Programme (Cepep) CEO Keith Eddy is commending his workers, saying they have once again delivered on their commitment to keeping Port-of-Spain clean, after they ensured that the city was free of any remnants of Carnival celebrations by midnight on Ash Wednesday.
Partnering with the National Carnival Commission (NCC) and the Port-of-Spain City Corporation, Cepep deployed 35 contractors and approximately 1,050 workers to maintain the Queen’s Park Savannah, the parade route, and downtown Port-of-Spain throughout the Carnival weekend. Clean-up efforts covered key areas, including St James, Mucurapo Road, St Clair Avenue, Tragarete Road, and Woodbrook.
Eddy, in a release issued yesterday, said he inspected the clean-up shortly after midnight and commended the dedication of the team.
