US-based charity founded by Guyanese-American hosts back-to-school initiative for children’s orphanage in Ghana

(Kaieteur News) – The International Children’s outreach (ICO), a US-based non-profit founded by Guyanese American entrepreneur and philanthropist, Onica Charles on Saturday last, hosted a back to school initiative for children of the Motherly Love Orphanage in Kwabenya, Accra-Ghana.

The orphanage received much needed essential household and food supplies fully sponsored by ICO. ICO has hosted a number of similar initiatives in Guyana and other parts of the Caribbean. The organisation has a similar initiative planned for Guyana to mark its 20th anniversary, next year.

Linzy Joy Nkrumah-Gentle, the Ghanaian Representative of ICO explained that the organisation focuses on supporting the children beyond the classroom and contributing to the environment that cares for them every day.
