AFTER being threatened with legal action by a United States-based record label, the People’s National Movement (PNM) has agreed to refrain from using a disputed song during its Tobago House of Assembly (THA) election campaign.
The decision follows a pre-action protocol letter from attorneys acting for VAS Productions LLC, which accused the party and Tobago Council political leader Ancil Dennis of copyright infringement over the use of the song Liff Up in campaign activities.
VAS Productions said in a media release that following the intervention of its legal team, the PNM formally agreed to cease and desist from using the song, including at a motorcade.
