A Police Constable was robbed and beaten while conducting a clothing sale in broad daylight on Sunday morning in Galera Park, Toco.
The victim, a 32-year-old officer attached to the Guard and Emergency Branch, had gone to the area to sell two black jerseys printed with “Scarface” and two pairs of blue jeans valued at $1,600. Around 10:30 a.m., he was confronted by two men , one wearing a red and grey hooded jersey, slim-built and unmasked, approximately five feet tall, and the other wearing a dark grey jersey with a black balaclava, stocky and armed with a cutlass.
There was a struggle and the officer was struck in the face and sustained a cut to his right middle finger. The suspects made off with $3,000 in cash, $1,600 in clothing, $150 US, and an additional $400 from the victim’s wallet. They escaped through nearby bushes.
