TOBAGO Regional Health Authority (TRHA) chair Christlyn Moore has responded to concerns about the roadworthiness of three ambulances purchased by the Authority and said the ambulances are fit for purpose and Tobagonians are getting value for money.
Moore spoke yesterday during a news conference at the conference room of the Roxborough Hospital.
“Do we have teething problems? Yes. But one of the problems we don’t have is ambulances not working—that’s not the problem we have. We have teething problems; we have training issues that we are going to resolve; we have specifications that we have added to the service providers—things that we did not ask for but that we have decided that we needed. And so we are—I don’t want to say we are retrofitting—but we are adding; we are beefing up the ambulances,” she explained.
