(Kaieteur News) – STEMGuyana is taking its young learners beyond coding and robotics into a new frontier: designing and building intelligent environmental systems that could eventually help Guyanese farmers manage drought, automate irrigation and monitor changing conditions in farms, waterways and communities.
The new Environmental Intelligence and Smart Systems programme will challenge students to answer a deceptively simple question: How can a computer understand the physical world and then use that information to make a useful decision?
In a press release STEMGuyana said these are not students encountering technology for the first time. Many have already completed STEMGuyana classes in Artificial Intelligence, coding, robotics and two levels of Arduino electronics, giving them a strong foundation for understanding sensors, microcontrollers, programming and automation. The new programme brings those skills together around real Guyanese problems.
