International relations expert Dr Anthony Gonzales says United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio is attending the Caribbean Community (Caricom) meeting in St Kitts and Nevis to wield a “big stick” against Caribbean leaders in an attempt to gain support for US pressure on Cuba.

His opinion was also shared by criminologist Dr Daurius Figueira yesterday.

Speaking to the Express by phone, Gonzales said the United States has increasingly adopted more aggressive measures to get its way.
