New York-based flight attendant Andrea Hill has been coming to Trinidad to play mas for the last five years. But this Carnival will remain an unforgettable one for her. 

On Tuesday, while crossing the SocaDrome stage at the Stadium in Tribe’s Gorgona, a section by Solange Govia, her partner of eight years, Jonathan Mannion, proposed to her.

 “I had no idea he was going to do this, not a clue,” Hill said, when we caught up with her at the luxurious Oasis rest stop on Mary Street.
