KINGSTON, Jamaica — Minister of Water, Environment and Climate Change, Matthew Samuda, will lead Jamaica’s delegation to the 13th Annual Subcommittee Meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives (ASC-CPR13), being held in Nairobi, Kenya, from September 7 to 13, 2026.
The meeting forms part of Jamaica’s continued engagement in global environmental governance and will consider key matters relating to the work and priorities of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), including its response to climate change, biodiversity and pollution.
Samuda’s participation is also significant as he serves as President of the eighth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-8), following his election by acclamation at UNEA-7.
