Caribbean Airlines says it welcomes Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar’s announcement in Parliament on Monday regarding travel support for children accessing medical treatment overseas through the Children’s Life Fund.
Speaking in Parliament, Mrs Persad-Bissessar announced that CAL will provide free air travel for children receiving assistance through the Children’s Life Fund, along with one accompanying parent or guardian, to enable them to travel abroad for life-saving surgery.
In a social media post on Tuesday, CAL said the airline is committed to working with the Children’s Life Fund Authority to facilitate the travel, noting that the initiative will help children access critical medical treatment overseas that may otherwise be beyond their families’ financial reach.
