Maracas man gets 12 years for friend’s stabbing death

AFTER spending more than ten years on remand a Maracas man has just 18 more months to serve in prison for the stabbing death of one of his friends during an argument in 2016.

The man, Kenrick Williams, who was initially charged with the murder of 21-year-old Aaron Ramsaroop, was sentenced by Justice Devan Rampersad on Monday after the judge accepted a plea agreement under which he pleaded guilty to lesser count of manslaughter.

The incident that led to Ramsaroop’s death took place on April 10, 2016, at Sumbadora Hill, Acono Road, Maracas, following an altercation at a residence.
