The pres­i­dent of the Con­fed­er­a­tion of Re­gion­al Busi­ness Cham­bers (CR­BC), Vivek Char­ran, says the de­ten­tion of busi­ness­man Do­minic Hadeed, his wife Genevieve Hadeed and their rel­a­tive, Star Sab­ga, has placed the use of Pre­ven­tive De­ten­tion Or­ders (PDOs) un­der greater pub­lic scruti­ny.

Speak­ing on CNC3’s The Morn­ing Brew yes­ter­day, Char­ran said the al­le­ga­tions in­volv­ing Hadeed were dif­fi­cult for many peo­ple to com­pre­hend.

“You know, the whole idea of a busi­ness per­son be­ing held for the con­spir­a­cy to com­mit mur­der against the Gov­ern­ment or, you know, Gov­ern­ment of­fi­cials and things is one that, in a sense, bog­gles the mind. It is quite shock­ing,” he said.
