Lo­cal gov­ern­ment bod­ies have been pool­ing re­sources to deal with flood­ing, ac­cord­ing to Ryan Ram­per­sad, Chair­man of the Cou­va/Tabaquite/Tal­paro Re­gion­al Cor­po­ra­tion (CT­TR­RC).

“It is known that the topog­ra­phy is dif­fer­ent across the coun­try, the Cen­tral cor­po­ra­tions are more flood prone than oth­ers, we have been able to get equip­ment from oth­er cor­po­ra­tions that are not flood prone as us so we have been able to do quite a lot of flood mit­i­ga­tion.

In ad­di­tion to that Jer­lean John, Min­is­ter of Works, have been tour­ing all the con­stituen­cies, every Wednes­day she tours con­stituen­cies with her en­tire Min­istry of Works team, not just the roads peo­ple—PURE and so on, but the Drainage Di­vi­sion,” Ram­per­sad said.
