Local government bodies have been pooling resources to deal with flooding, according to Ryan Rampersad, Chairman of the Couva/Tabaquite/Talparo Regional Corporation (CTTRRC).
“It is known that the topography is different across the country, the Central corporations are more flood prone than others, we have been able to get equipment from other corporations that are not flood prone as us so we have been able to do quite a lot of flood mitigation.
In addition to that Jerlean John, Minister of Works, have been touring all the constituencies, every Wednesday she tours constituencies with her entire Ministry of Works team, not just the roads people—PURE and so on, but the Drainage Division,” Rampersad said.
