Dr Kriyaan Singh of the La Romaine Veterinary Clinic, who has been providing medical care to the ocelot that suffered injuries from a gunshot on the weekend, said this is the fourth ocelot with gunshot wounds treated at his clinic this year.
The ocelot that was brought to him on Sunday was found to be injured in the neck, with a large wound and several porcupine quills, upon examination at Singh’s clinic.
He told the Express yesterday that when the ocelot was brought to him after it was rescued from a forested area in Granville, Cedros, he gave it a “grave prognosis”.
