IN the wake of three motorcyclist fatalities last month, president of NGO Arrive Alive Sharon Inglefield has raised concerns over road safety, driver awareness, and infrastructure conditions on the nation’s roads.
Inglefield, speaking via telephone interview on Friday, called for training and education for motorcyclists and other road users, as well as improvements to the road networks to minimise risks for all.
The recent deaths, including that of motorcyclist Richard Nangwah, 28, whose accident was reportedly caused when he swerved to avoid a pothole in Curepe on Wednesday night, highlight the dangerous conditions that many drivers, including motorcyclists, face daily, according to Inglefield.
