St. John’s College HM claims ‘victimization’ after TSC demotion

(Kaieteur News) – St. John’s College headteacher, Beverley Agard, says the disciplinary action taken against her by the Teaching Service Commission (TSC), which resulted in her demotion and transfer from the city school, was based on an unfair process.

Speaking with Kaieteur News on Wednesday, Agard said the decision followed reports that she had allegedly breached several of the commission’s rules.

Agard said that at a meeting with the TSC on September 17, the commission failed to properly consider the evidence and explanations she presented in her defence and instead relied on a letter submitted by District Education Officer (DEO) for Secondary, Shevon Sutton.
