(Kaieteur News) – Guyana’s High Commissioner to India, Dharamkumar Seeraj, has been formally accredited as the country’s Non-Resident High Commissioner to Malaysia, following the presentation of his Letter of Credence to Malaysia’s King, Sultan Ibrahim, on Monday.
The ceremony took place at Istana Negara, the National Palace in Kuala Lumpur, where Seeraj formally assumed his diplomatic role in representing Guyana to Malaysia. During the occasion, Seeraj reaffirmed Guyana’s commitment to strengthening the longstanding bonds of friendship between the two countries and advancing shared prosperity, progress and cooperation.
Guyana and Malaysia established diplomatic relations on 26th April, 1976, and have since maintained cordial ties, collaborating on matters of mutual interest through bilateral engagement and multilateral forums. Seeraj also serves as Guyana’s High Commissioner to the Republic of India, with concurrent accreditation to Sri Lanka and, now, Malaysia.
