(Kaieteur News) – One cattle farmer has already walked away from the industry, while others are considering following suit as livestock theft continues to plague farmers in Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne).
Among those who have abandoned cattle rearing is Ron Soogrim, an overseas-based Guyanese businessman who has now shifted his focus to agro-processing.
Soogrim, who spent years in cattle farming in Berbice, said he has decided to call it a day because the business is no longer profitable.
