Inflation remained low in June, with the annual rate holding steady at 0.3 per cent, according to the Central Statistical Office.
The All Items Index rose by 0.2 per cent compared to May, while the Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages Index increased by 1.4 per cent, driven by higher prices for items including chicken, potatoes and fresh produce.
The CSO said some food price increases were offset by lower prices for products such as cucumbers, bread and brown sugar. Meanwhile, the Clothing and Footwear Index edged up by 0.1 per cent, with all other categories remaining unchanged.
