A Venezue­lan woman ac­cused of run­ning a hu­man traf­fick­ing ring in Tu­na­puna has been de­nied bail and is ex­pect­ed to re­turn to court in No­vem­ber.

Ac­cord­ing to a re­lease from the Counter Traf­fick­ing Unit (CTU), 22-year-old Gabrielis Maibelline Periera Mar­tinez was for­mal­ly charged fol­low­ing the ex­e­cu­tion of Op­er­a­tion G-Ride on June 6, 2025.

The op­er­a­tion led to the res­cue of sev­er­al Latin Amer­i­can na­tion­als and the dis­man­tling of what the CTU de­scribed as a ma­jor hu­man traf­fick­ing net­work.
