User fees and permits will soon be required to visit Little Tobago.
The Tobago Reforestation and Watershed Rehabilitation Programme hosted a public consultation at Speyside Secondary School on Monday evening to discuss the implementation of a framework for visits to the island, which was officially declared a bird sanctuary.
Little Tobago has been a prohibited site since 1999 under the Forests Act, because it is home to migratory bird species such as red-footed and brown boobies, frigatebirds and red-billed tropicbirds, among others.
