A 41-year-old Maraval man was ambushed and robbed by gunmen of over $40,000 after withdrawing money at a nearby bank on August 5.
The man told police he left Republic Bank, Ellerslie Plaza, around 11.30 am after withdrawing $15,000 and was driving along Prada Street when a heavily tinted silver Hyundai Tucson overtook and pulled in front of him.
He said two men jumped out and flashed the guns in their waistbands, announcing a robbery. The man handed over a side bag containing $40,000 and a cheque valued $30,000. They also took the keys for his vehicle and home. Investigations are ongoing.
