The Ministry of Innovation, Industry, Science and Technology (MIST) has advised that a section of the Princess Alice Highway will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, September 11. This partial closure is to facilitate the hosting of a tape-ball cricket tournament celebrating the Barbados Tridents’ home games during the Caribbean Premier League season. The affected area extends from the junction of Prescod Boulevard to the Export Barbados Pelican House Building and continues to the junction of Princess Alice Highway and Mortuary Road. Motorists are urged to use alternative routes, where possible, and to obey all traffic signs and directions issued by police officers and event personnel. The temporary closure is being implemented to ensure the safety of participants, patrons, and the general public while supporting a community event that promotes sport and national pride. The ministry apologises for any inconvenience which may result and thanks the public for its cooperation and understanding. (MIST)
